Product Description

The UNI-T UT309A Infrared Thermometer is a professional non-contact temperature measurement instrument designed for fast surface temperature inspection in electrical maintenance, HVAC servicing, industrial equipment inspection, transportation, and general troubleshooting applications. By measuring infrared energy emitted from the target surface, the UT309A allows technicians to check temperatures without physically touching the component, making it useful for energized, moving, hot, or difficult-to-access equipment.

The UT309A provides a temperature measurement range of -35°C to 450°C (-31°F to 842°F) with a resolution of 0.1°C/0.1°F. Its 10:1 distance-to-spot ratio (D) allows the user to measure a target from a distance while maintaining a defined measurement area. The thermometer has a response time of approximately 250ms, enabling quick temperature checks during routine inspection and maintenance work.

The instrument uses a single Class 2 laser to indicate the approximate measurement target. The laser operates at a wavelength of 630–670nm with a power below 1mW. The UT309A has a fixed emissivity of 0.95, making it ready for common surface-temperature measurement applications without requiring manual emissivity adjustment.

For temperature analysis, the UT309A provides MAX, MIN, AVG, and DIF modes. These functions allow technicians to monitor the highest and lowest detected temperatures, calculate an average value, or observe the difference between temperature readings. The instrument also provides high- and low-temperature alarm indications through dedicated LED indicators, helping identify measurements that exceed predefined limits.

The UT309A includes practical functions such as data hold, automatic power-off, low-battery indication, °C/°F selection, laser control, and LCD backlight. A tripod mounting point is also provided for applications where the thermometer needs to remain in a fixed position during measurement.

Designed for field use, the UT309A has an IP65 protection rating and 3-meter drop resistance, according to UNI-T's UT309 series specifications. Its compact handheld design measures approximately 189 × 118 × 55mm and weighs around 292g, allowing it to be carried easily during maintenance and inspection tasks.
