The UNI-T UT315A Vibration Tester is a professional handheld instrument designed for measuring and evaluating mechanical vibration in rotating and reciprocating machinery. It measures three essential vibration parameters—acceleration, velocity, and displacement—providing useful information for routine equipment condition monitoring, preventive maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Vibration analysis is an important part of predictive maintenance because abnormal vibration can indicate mechanical conditions such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing problems, or other changes in machine operation. By monitoring vibration levels over time, maintenance technicians can identify changes in machine behavior and investigate potential mechanical issues before they develop into more serious failures.

The UT315A measures acceleration from 0.1 to 199.9 m/s² peak, with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 10 kHz. It measures vibration velocity from 0.01 to 19.99 cm/s RMS over a 10 Hz to 1 kHz frequency range, while displacement measurement covers 0.001 to 1.999 mm peak-to-peak with a 10 Hz to 500 Hz frequency response. These measurement ranges make the instrument suitable for a wide variety of industrial rotating and reciprocating machinery.

The tester uses a high-sensitivity vibration probe and is supplied with long and short probes, allowing measurements to be performed in different physical locations. A magnetic chuck is also included for convenient measurements where holding the probe manually is difficult. The instrument automatically selects the appropriate vibration frequency characteristics according to the selected measurement parameter.

For field maintenance and inspection work, the UT315A provides a large LCD, backlight, data hold, maximum-value display, low-battery indication, and automatic power-off. It can store up to 1999 measurement records and supports USB communication, allowing stored measurement data to be transferred to a computer for viewing and analysis using the available UNI-T software.
