Product Description

The UNI-T UT243 Power and Harmonics Clamp Meter is a handheld electrical power measurement instrument that combines the functions of a digital clamp ammeter and power meter for single-phase and three-phase electrical systems. It is designed for technicians and engineers who need to measure electrical parameters such as AC voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, phase angle, and energy without disconnecting the circuit under test.

The UT243 supports True RMS AC voltage and current measurement, making it suitable for measuring electrical systems where waveform distortion may affect conventional average-responding meters. Its clamp jaw has a maximum opening of 50mm, allowing current measurements to be performed without interrupting the conductor. The meter supports current measurements up to 1000A AC and voltage measurements up to 600V AC.

For power analysis, the UT243 can measure active power from 0.01kW to 600kW, apparent power from 0.01kVA to 600kVA, and reactive power from 0.01kVAr to 600kVAr. It also measures power factor from 0.3 to 1 and phase angle from 0° to 360°, providing useful information for evaluating electrical loads and power consumption in industrial and commercial systems.

The instrument supports measurements on single-phase two-wire, three-phase three-wire, and three-phase four-wire systems. It also includes phase sequence detection, which can identify positive phase sequence, reverse phase sequence, and phase deficiency. This makes the UT243 useful for electrical installation checks, motor-system diagnostics, and three-phase power troubleshooting.

A key function of the UT243 is its harmonic analysis capability, which allows measurement of individual harmonic components from the 1st through the 20th harmonic. This can help technicians investigate waveform distortion associated with nonlinear loads such as switching power supplies, variable-frequency drives, UPS systems, and other power-electronic equipment.

The meter provides a 10,000-count dual LCD display, along with MAX/MIN, data hold, automatic ranging, backlight, low-battery indication, and automatic power-off functions. Up to 999 measurement groups can be stored internally. A USB interface and PC software are also provided for transferring and reviewing measurement data, making the instrument useful for electrical inspection and maintenance records.
