RELETEK RS-TLR12 Right-Left (Inverse) Time Relay

The RELETEK RS-TLR12 Right-Left (Inverse) Time Relay is a microcontroller-based timing relay designed to alternately control two separate loads in a timed right-left operating sequence. It is intended for industrial and domestic automation systems where two outputs need to operate sequentially, with an adjustable OFF period between them.

The RS-TLR12 operates by energizing the first relay output for a preset Ton period. When this time expires, the first relay is de-energized and both outputs remain OFF during the preset Toff interval. The second relay then becomes energized for the same Ton period. After the second timing period is completed, both relays are de-energized again before the sequence repeats continuously. This operating principle allows two loads to work alternately rather than simultaneously.

This right-left or inverse operating sequence makes the RS-TLR12 suitable for applications where alternating operation is required. For example, it can be used to control two motors, pumps, fans, valves, or other electrical loads in a predefined sequence. Alternating the loads can also help distribute operating time between two devices in systems designed for duty cycling.

The relay provides a wide selectable timing range from 0.1 seconds to 100 days. This allows the same controller to be used for relatively short switching intervals as well as long-duration industrial or automation sequences. The available timing ranges include 1s, 10s, 1min, 10min, 1h, 10h, 1day, 10days, 30days, and 100days.

The RS-TLR12 supports AC 220V supply through terminals A1-A2 and 24V AC/DC through the specified A3-A2 supply arrangement. It provides two changeover relay outputs (2 C/O), each rated at 8A for AC-1 loads. For higher-current or inductive loads such as motors and pumps, the relay outputs should be used to operate appropriately rated contactors rather than switching the loads directly.

The controller is designed for TH-35 DIN-rail mounting and has an IP20 protection rating. Its compact modular construction makes it suitable for installation inside electrical control panels and automation cabinets. The manufacturer specifies a setting accuracy below 5% and a repetition accuracy below 0.2%, providing repeatable timing for automated switching sequences.
