Description
1.3 Inch OLED I2C Display Module with EC11 Rotary Encoder
Product Description
The 1.3 Inch OLED I2C Display Module with EC11 Rotary Encoder combines a compact monochrome OLED display and rotary input control on a single PCB, providing a practical user-interface solution for embedded electronics and microcontroller projects. Instead of using a separate display and encoder, this module integrates the main visual and input components together, reducing wiring and simplifying the front-panel design of electronic devices.
The OLED screen provides a 128 × 64 pixel resolution with a high-contrast white-on-black display. The display uses an SH1106 controller and communicates with the host microcontroller through the I²C interface, requiring SDA and SCL communication lines. This makes it suitable for displaying menus, measurements, operating parameters, status information, icons, and simple graphical interfaces.
For user input, the module includes an EC11 rotary encoder with 20 pulses per rotation. The encoder provides two-phase A/B signals that allow a microcontroller to determine both rotation and direction. Its integrated push switch can be used as an additional selection or confirmation input, making the encoder suitable for menu navigation and parameter adjustment.
The board also provides dedicated interfaces for Confirm and Back/Return buttons. These additional inputs can be used together with the rotary encoder to create a complete navigation system without requiring multiple external switches. The available interfaces include VCC, GND, SDA, SCL, TRA, TRB, PSH, BAK, and CON.
With its compact approximately 65 × 35 mm PCB format, the module can be incorporated into control panels, portable instruments, development boards, test equipment, smart-home controllers, and other embedded systems where both visual feedback and physical controls are required. It is particularly suitable for Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and similar microcontroller-based projects, provided the electrical interface requirements are compatible.
The module operates from a 3.3V supply, making it especially convenient for modern 3.3V microcontrollers such as ESP32 and many STM32 systems. Because the exact implementation of similar modules can vary between manufacturers or batches, the controller IC and electrical specifications should be checked against the supplied module when designing a production system.
