Tuya WiFi Motion Sensor

The Tuya WiFi Motion Sensor is a compact PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor designed to detect human movement and integrate motion detection into a Tuya-based smart home or security system. By sensing changes in infrared radiation caused by moving people or animals, the sensor can provide real-time activity notifications and trigger automated actions through the Tuya Smart or Smart Life application.

The sensor connects directly to a 2.4GHz WiFi network, allowing it to communicate with the smart-home platform without requiring a dedicated Zigbee hub or gateway. When movement is detected within its coverage area, the sensor can send a notification to a connected smartphone, allowing users to monitor activity remotely.

Using Tuya smart scenes, motion detection can also become a trigger for other connected devices. For example, detected movement can automatically turn on a smart light, activate a smart siren, trigger a camera, or control other compatible Tuya devices. This makes the sensor useful for both security monitoring and automatic lighting or energy-management applications.

The sensor uses PIR technology, which detects changes in infrared energy rather than transmitting a detection signal. This provides a simple and low-power method for monitoring movement in indoor areas. Depending on the hardware version, detection coverage can reach approximately 6 meters, with a wide detection angle of around 120–128°.

Battery-powered versions typically use two AAA alkaline batteries, making installation wireless and suitable for locations where running power cables would be inconvenient. Low-power operation and mobile low-battery notifications on supported versions help maintain reliable operation while reducing the need for frequent battery replacement.

The compact design allows the sensor to be mounted on a wall or ceiling using adhesive mounting or a suitable bracket. It is suitable for homes, offices, shops, corridors, entrances, storage areas, and other indoor locations where motion-based monitoring or smart automation is required.
